A survey conducted on 1002 IT professionals by Right Scale in January of 2017 revealed about 85% of businesses have a numerous cloud strategy & 58% planning to implement a hybrid cloud. By 2018, most IT businesses are expected to move completely to the cloud, with the non-cloud companies falling sharply to 43% from the current 78%, according to a report from McKinsey. Accelerated move to the cloud is a major trend that is slated to gain momentum in 2017 & beyond.
2. Server less Computing: Amazon Web Services' Lambda & the API Gateway have already laid the pathway for server less computing to increase & evolve in a big way. With serverless computing, it is all the more simple to focus on core business solutions rather than worrying about managing the web server, infrastructure, & core operating systems. 3. Machine learning: Artificial intelligence is already integrated into the cloud by big players including IBM, Amazon & Google Web Services among others.

Microsoft Azure also provides cognitive services with different possibilities including route logistics, gesture-based controls, location insights & more. Algorithms that can sense emotions, read images & faces are part of the cognitive services that may see more development in the coming years.
4. Container technology: Containers are the buzz word already & they are likely to be at the helm of IT affairs in the years to come. The key benefits of containers it offers in terms of portability b/w various platforms will also enable faster software development. Experts believe that containers will be used to deploy micro-services to solve real-world problems as they are flexible & cost-efficient. Enhanced security built into containers will make them all the more beautiful.
5. Hybrid cloud shifts: Hybrid Cloud is increasingly the approved platform with over 67% of respondents in an IT survey favouring it. Professional believes large enterprises will increasingly prefer hybrid mode to harness the security net it provides to protect vital data from gaining exposure to 3rd s party vendors. With increasing demand for hybrid, the challenges of simple APIs & paucity of management tools will be the key areas to focus in the coming years for suppliers.
